I had my breakfast and I was picked up on
time by my taxi at 10am at my hotel. There was some queuing involved with my
airlines at the airport (TAM), but it soon dwindled down quickly enough. When I tried to go through the departure lounge I realised I hadn't paid my 15 Bolivinanos
for the airport tax! Back I went to pay for this and finally I was allowed to enter. I was really impressed when we took off on time at 12
o’clock, and the coffee served on the plane was the best ever!
My room - 'Hostal Cruz de los Andes' in La Paz
I arrived in Sucre after only 40 minutes;
you definitely do see how mountainous and remote Bolivia is when flying. I
jumped into a taxi (20 Bolivianos), and asked to be dropped in the centre of
town. I was dropped off along San Alberto and decided to make my way to
'Hostal Charcas' where I met a nice friendly old man who showed me a
room. It was a bit like a prison cell and smelt badly of nicotine, but at 40
Bolivianos (shared bathroom, next door) and good Wi-Fi I decided to take it and paid for
two nights (although I will probably be staying three nights).
I later had a walk around Sucre and had
something to eat at ‘El German’ on San Alberto which was very nice. I also walked
along Plaza 25 De Mayo and visited one of the ice cream parlous, which was a
little pricey but very good. I then visited the Mercado Central
and bought a fruit drink and later some cakes to bring back to my hotel room.
Sucre
Sucre
Sucre
Sucre definitely
has its wealth, you can see this just by looking at the people. I have also
noticed Sucre has a lot of pretty girls!
